Attention: developers applying for building permits!
The core area exemption program will end on December 31, 2009. In addition, individuals applying for building permits have a few months remaining to take advantage of the 2009 development rates, before the new January 1, 2010 rates come into effect.
Autumn Leaf Collection
The loose leaf collection program is now finished. Please bag any remaining leaves on your property for the Region of Waterloo's yard waste collection, or compost leaves in your garden. You may also take leaves to the Erb St. landfill site.
City of Waterloo Museum
The community is invited to check out our new heritage museum at Conestoga Mall. Currently, museum hours are Wednesday to Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Community cash grant applications are now available
Community cash grants are available to groups and organizations who provide recreation, leisure and/or community programs/services that enhance the quality of life for the residents of the City of Waterloo.

Mayor's Forum
Come to the Mayor’s Forum on Waterloo Becoming an Age Friendly City. It will be held on Nov. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Luther Village on the Park. RSVP by Nov. 25.

The City of Waterloo is moving forward with a new Urban Design Manual and Guidelines that will have a significant impact on how this community looks and feels in the future.
Waterloo proposes a new noise bylaw
Staff are currently undertaking a thorough review of City noise bylaws with the intention of producing a new, modern, comprehenstive by-law. Staff are looking to the community for input. Please consider completing a noise survey.
Waterloo's statistical profiles have been updated
The profiles contain planning district as well as city wide statistical data. Data for a number of variables such as population, income, labour force, housing and development activity, and immigration are available.
