Programed Activities at RIM Park
Heritage Designated Building, the Carnegie Library is the only historic public building in the City with a virtually unchanged facade. The present home of Habitat for Humanity, the former library had also been used for the Waterloo detachment of the Waterloo Regional Police. In the early 1800's, Berlin residents travelled to Waterloo to pick up their mail. Tiny Waterloo had one of the few post offices in Canada and the only one for the northern part of the county for many years. Before postal service was established in Waterloo, mail had to be brought in from the Preston Depot daily by riders or stage coach.
