Seniors health programs
Social prescribing (55+)
We're partnering with the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) to participate in the Links2Wellbeing: Social Prescribing for Older Adults project.
This project is for older adults who feel isolated and could benefit from social, recreational, or movement-based programs, such as:
- Absolutely Art
- Friday Flicks (travel presentations)
- pickleball
- billiards and more!
If you're an isolated senior, we will refer you to this program for free!
Program benefits:
- helps to create community connections, expanding your network of peer support
- improves overall mental and physical health through social interaction
-
addresses non-medical, social, and physical needs, potentially reducing future hospital visits
-
reduces barriers for older adults to meet and connect with likeminded Waterloo residents
Call 519-579-1020 or email leisureprogramming@waterloo.ca for a copy of our referral form.
